Today while browsing through my Twitter feed, I read a post from Mike Colon’ that simply reads, “Does anyone need advice or a 15 minute phone call?” Of course, I jumped at the chance. Within minutes, I was talking to Mike.
Now for those who may read this and not know who Mike Colon’ is, definitely check out his website at http://www.mikecolon.com. He is a very talented destination wedding photographer, a marketing genius, and a fantastic teacher and mentor in life and photography.
Mike is a super down to earth and easy to talk to person. It was just like we were friends picking up a conversation from earlier. The information and knowledge I gathered in our short time was really priceless to me, and Mike did not hold anything back in delivering his honest advice. We talked a little about life, marketing and of course… firearms. It appears we both share a love for zombie apocalypse preparedness.
One thing I have always loved about the photography community and those at the frontlines is the willingness to reach out to people, for no apparent reason at all and the general sense of just making people’s lives that much better through small deeds and generosity. I am so thankful and lucky to have been able to reach out to and come in contact with so many amazing people, like Mike, during my short career. I hope one day I will have as much wisdom and knowledge that I can return back as well.
